Quest 746 High-Efficiency Overhead Dehumidifier

The Quest 746 High-Efficiency Overhead Dehumidifier boasts their patented multi-coil design which provides industry leading efficiencies. The Quest 746 High Efficiency Overhead Dehumidifier maintains consistent high-efficiency while removing up to 746 pints of moisture per day from your greenhouse environment. Its high voltage means low amp draw, freeing electricity for additional equipment operation.

Multi-Coil Design for Unmatched Efficiency

Quest’s patented multi-coil design creates a constant curve of efficiency that delivers a consistent energy factor (kWh) even at 75 degrees F and 50% RH. Three coils work together to more effectively cool air prior to and during dehumidification. The first coil is filled with refrigerant and takes the edge off warm, moist air without removing moisture. When this air passes over the second coil, the evaporator drops the air temperature below dew point and water begins to be removed from it. As this air passes the third coil, energy is recovered and recycled to further improve efficiency. This high efficiency makes the Quest 746 High-Efficiency Overhead Dehumidifier compliant with California Title 24 regulations as recently updated, both for overhead (portable) and ducted (whole-house) installation.

Higher Voltage for Better Electrical Usage

The Quest 746 dehumidifier is a 480-volt unit which pulls only 6.5 amps of current at maximum effort. These impressive machines are also UL-rated and ETL-listed to the highest safety standards.

Beyond high efficiency and low amp draw, the Quest 746 has these features for more convenient use in a variety of applications.

  • Overhead or Ground Placement: Built to fit what works for your space.
  • Wide Operating Range: For temperature and humidity.
  • MERV 13 Filtration: Superior filtration removes more harmful contaminants from the air such as dust, pollen and mold as well as bacteria and some viruses.
  • Supply Voltage: 480V – 3 Phase.
  • Current Draw: 6.5 Amps.
  • Capacity: 746 Pints/Day.
  • Efficiency: 7.3 Pints/kWh.

Additional Features

  • External Control Required: The Quest 746 needs an external remote humidistat through a 24V terminal block. We recommend the Quest DEH 3000R Control.
  • Hard-Wired: This unit does not have a cord with plug, but is hard-wire only.
  • Daisy-Chain: Up to three (3) units can be daisy-chained together with a single controller.
  • Gravity Drain: Condensate drains by gravity through the drain port which uses a ¾-inch male NPT PVC pipe (not included).
  • Indoor Use: Designed for indoor use in a space protected from rain and flooding.
  • R410a refrigerant: This first-generation version of the Quest 746 uses R410a refrigerant, which is being phased out by the newer R454b refrigerant. While not quite as energy efficient as R454b, R410A offers similar performance to R454b. However, R454b is mildly flammable (A2L) and requires specific handling procedures. This version of the Quest 746 may be preferable depending on your setup.

What Customers Love

  • Highest Efficiency: Multi-coil technology combined with high voltage/low amps results in an energy factor of only 3.5 L/kWh.
  • Superior Filtration: A MERV-13 filter is standard with the Quest 746 for cleaner air.

QUEST’S PATENTED TECHNOLOGY | M-CoRR™

Providing the most energy-efficient dehumidification

The secret behind Quest’s unparalleled energy-efficiency is their patented multi-coil design, M-CoRR (short for Multi-Coil Refrigeration Recovery). You won’t find this technology anywhere else.

Engineered for maximum performance, Quest’s M-CoRR is the most energy-efficient and the best return on your investment, paying for itself in energy savings over time. M-CoRR’s innovative design performs better over a wider range of dew points, even at colder temperatures, and maintains capacity regardless of airflow fluctuations.

How Does Quest’s M-CoRR Technology Work?

Traditional refrigerant dehumidifiers have a single refrigerant-filled evaporator coil that cools the air passing through it to extract the water from the air. Once air cools below the dew point, water condenses. Energy captured in the refrigerant during water removal returns to the air in the form of heat at the second coil, the condenser.

The magic of Quest’s M-CoRR Technology is its multiple coils. Quest designed the typical evaporator coil into three separate refrigerant-filled coils: the pre-evaporator, evaporator, and recovery coil.

The first coil, the pre-evaporator, cools the air. The second coil, the evaporator, cools it even further to pull out the water. The third coil recovers the energy from pre-cooling the air and recycles it back into the evaporator for reuse.

What Are The Benefits Of Using M-CoRR?

Highest Efficiency. Lowest Energy Usage

Higher efficiency = lower electricity usage per pint of water removed. M-CoRR technology pulls more water out of the air per kilowatt hour than any other dehumidification technology. Period.

Less Heat Output

Inefficiency = Heat. It takes energy to run the fan and compressor in your dehumidifier. During dehumidification, this energy converts to heat that warms your room. The more energy your dehumidifier consumes, the more heat it expels. Quest dehumidifiers featuring M-CoRR technology are the most efficient dehumidifiers in the world, which means they put less heat in your environment.

More Capacity, Smaller Footprint

Your space is valuable. Dehumidifiers powered by M-CoRR are more compact. This technology averages over 20% smaller than traditional LGR dehumidification technology of the same capacity.

Wide Operating Rage. Tighter Control

Thanks to its multiple coils, M-CoRR technology equips Quest to maintain performance better than traditional dehumidification equipment, even in cooler temperatures and dew points, with less frequent and faster defrost cycles. Less time spent in defrost neutralizes spikes in temperature and relative humidity, keeping the environment consistent and, in indoor cultivations, VPD dialed in.
